Ruth Swartout
Glass And Mosaic Artist

Artist's Statement
I create mosaic art because I cannot escape the need to bring my headful of ideas to life. My work is a combination of imagination and experiences (some might call it daydreaming) and I am lucky enough to meet the occasional muse.

I crave cutting and gluing glass and I am attracted to color, pattern and shape to the point of distraction. The interplay between colors becomes one of the most important elements as I work. My designs are often influenced by nature and my travels. My work incorporates glass, ceramic and bits-n-pieces of anything.
